A custom made flared jumpsuit wedding dress
From the moment Katie walked into my creative studio, we didn’t stop laughing! She is a bride you will never forget. Her free spirited personality and love for life was contagious.
Katie knew she wanted a wedding that was fun, bold, colourful and connected to nature for a relaxed outdoor wedding, where she and her guests could dance the night away.
Katie didn’t want to have a traditional wedding dress made but instead was hoping I could design something for her personal style that was for a modern bride keeping the look and feel bridal.
Sitting with Katie and my sketch book, a few looks for her personality quickly surfaced. The most connected style for her was a pant suit that came to life through the design process.
I designed a halter neck pant suit that flared at the hem. A silk organza bow sat at her shoulder, giving the look of a modern yet elegant finish. The veil was made using a soft ivory spotted tulle. The highlight of this garment for Katie was the surprise pockets we put into the sides of the pant.
Katie’s wedding look and style was something unique. The flared pants jumpsuit style with pockets still looked dressy enough with a bridal feel.
