A custom made wedding gown with detachable skirt made from Italian style embroidered lace
Jamie is the daughter of my very good friends. I had the pleasure of watching her grow up into the most beautiful, caring young lady. She is very special to me and when she asked me to design her wedding gown and bridal party, I was thrilled and couldn’t wait to get started.
The ideas started flying into my mind and I was excited to share them with her.
We began by looking at lots of different laces and fabrics for inspiration. Jamie’s style was elegant, dramatic and timeless. A high class wedding was about to be created.
I sketched a few ideas that suited her style. I decided her petite body would suit a straight classic dress with emphasis on the Italian style embroidered lace. We used this spectacular lace all over the body of her tube style dress which gave Jamie an elongated look and feel.
Jamie wanted something for a train but didn’t feel a heavy satin fabric would be her style so I suggested we use a double silk organza for her detachable overskirt. The detachable skirt was lightweight and very easy for Jamie to carry on a 6 metre train. The train was embellished with Italian style embroidered lace to complement the whole look and Jaime’s personal style.
I went on and designed for her 3 bridesmaids who wore fitted bodices attached to a pencil skirt. We used 3D floral lace in nude tones to cover the entire bodice and finish the lace cascading over an organza peplum that was attached at the waist. A very sexy and modern bridesmaid dress.
I designed the mother of the bride in a gorgeous blue to compliment her eyes. It was absolutely stunning on her. I used imported Italian embroidered lace, all over her one shoulder tube style dress. It was emphasised using a plain blue satin, that had a bow finish.
The whole bridal party looked magnificent and I was so lucky to have shared this journey.

A custom made piece of clothing is designed so that it is the same size and shape as your body. It can emphasise all of your elegant features perfectly. In this example it was also created with a skirt that could be detached.
