Samantha came to meet me through her friends. She was so sweet, with a beautiful personality. We settled down over a cup of coffee with her lovely mother and I showed her some bridal lace, and she fell in love with my Couture House floral lace, a classic piece of 3D beaded lace.
I asked Sam about her hopes and dreams: the theme, the size of the wedding, and most importantly what she liked to wear and what she didn’t. It was very obvious she was an elegant, classic bride, happy for the dress to be sexy but modest.
I created a fitted vee-neck bodice to emphasise her waist, with a low scooped back and heavily embellished lace cascading down the tulle skirt, front and back. The skirt used 30 metres of soft tulle and finished in a cathedral train, with a six-metre veil hand-beaded in the same floral lace.
We went on to make her mother’s gown and the flower girl dresses, and on the morning of the wedding I was by Samantha’s side, dressing her as she got ready for her new journey.
