Bespoke couture
A gown designed with Catherine from a blank page, only for you. Wedding gowns, evening gowns and the mother of the bride, created in our Sydney atelier: your story, your silhouette, your day. No one else will ever wear it.

Why bespoke
A perfect fit
Your gown is patterned to your measurements and refined over three to five fittings, so it moves with you and feels effortless all day and night.
Total freedom
Any silhouette, fabric or colour: detachable skirts, cathedral trains, a jumpsuit with pockets, lace from your mother’s dress. We are only limited by imagination.
The experience
Champagne consultations, hand-drawn sketches, fabrics from around the world, and Catherine by your side throughout the journey. We offer a personalised dressing service on your special day if required, ensuring every detail is beautifully taken care of.
How your gown is made
Allow six to twelve months, depending on your design. We aim to have your gown ready two weeks before your event.

Consultation
Over champagne (or coffee) we talk about your occasion, your style and how you want to feel. I listen first, then the sketching begins.

Sketch and fabric
I hand-draw your design and we choose the silks, laces and embellishment together, sourced from around the world.

Toile and fittings
Your pattern is cut to your measurements and refined over three to five fittings as the gown comes to life.

The day
Your gown is finished two weeks before the day. I also offer a personal wedding morning dressing service, helping you into your gown and ensuring every detail is perfect.
Silhouettes
Real Catherine Colubriale brides. Select a silhouette to read her story.

A-line
Fitted through the bodice, flowing from the waist.

Ball gown
A structured bodice and a full, romantic skirt.

Mermaid
Sculpted to the knee, then a dramatic flare.

Sheath
A sleek line that follows the body.

Two-in-one
A detachable skirt or train for the reception.

Jumpsuit
Bridal and modern, and yes, with pockets.
Evening and occasion
Bespoke evening couture is where Catherine’s love of colour, drama and detail shines brightest: elegant, sexy and made to be remembered.

Evening gowns
Black tie, galas and red carpets. Sculpted, dramatic gowns in the colours you love.

Mother of the bride and groom
Elegant, comfortable and entirely you, designed to complement the bridal party.

Colour and drama
Scarlet tulle, emerald silk, gold sequins. Couture is where colour comes alive.

Bridal party and occasions
Bridesmaids, engagements, milestone birthdays and every celebration in between.

Mother of the bride and groom
Hand-beaded bodices, soft draping, a colour that complements the bridal party, and a fit that lets you celebrate from the first photo to the last dance.

Questions
What is the difference between bespoke and the couture collections?
A bespoke gown is designed with Catherine from a blank page, only for you, and takes six to twelve months. Alternatively, you choose a gown from our Bridal or Evening Couture Collection that will be made to order to fit your specific body measurements. This process takes four to six weeks.
How long does a gown take?
A bespoke gown takes between six and twelve months, depending on the complexity of your design and our schedule, and we aim to have it finished two weeks before your event. A gown from our Bridal or Evening Couture Collection is made to order to your specific body measurements in four to six weeks.
How many fittings will I need?
For a bespoke gown, usually three to five, depending on the design.
How much does a couture gown cost?
Every gown is individually quoted, because every gown is different: the design, fabrics and hand-work all shape the price. Everything is explained clearly before you commit.
What if my body changes, or I fall pregnant?
We are with you all the way. If your shape changes we work out the best way to adapt the design. We have dressed many brides through weight changes and pregnancy.
Where are the gowns made?
Every gown is designed, cut and sewn in our Dulwich Hill atelier in Sydney.
